Having lived just outside Inverness for many years I too are familiar with the amazing attractions that this part of the World has to offer, from Loch Ness to Speyside Whisky Tours and of course the beautiful Isle of Skye.
Example of a typical Itinerary – Please note that this can be adjusted to suit your individual requirements
Day 1 – Pick up from your accommodation in Edinburgh or Glasgow then travel in your luxury car to Scone Palace, Perthshire, historic crowning place of Scottish Kings, thereafter travel to The Hermitage, this stunning forest walk was originally a pleasure ground in the 18th Century for the Dukes of Atholl. Travel onto the House of Bruar, known as the Harrod`s of Scotland, for a spot of lunch. Continue our journey North towards Inverness, through the beautiful Cairngorm National Park. Stop past Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery, for an opportunity to enjoy a taste of some their lovely Whisky. Arrive at your overnight accommodation in Inverness.
Day 2 – Pick up from your overnight accommodation. Enjoy a guided tour of Inverness town centre, by a local guide, and learn about stories of old. Thereafter visit Culloden Battlefield, site of the last battle of the Jacobite rising in 1746, where Prince Charles Edward Stuart fought against the British Government army led by Duke of Cumberland. This was to see the climax of the Jacobite Rising and led to over 1500 Jacobites losing their lifes in less than 1 Hour. Visit a local Restaurant for some lunch, then visit the 4000 year old Clava burial cairns. Travel to nearby Black-Isle and visit the historic town of Fortrose and the stunning Chanonry Point on the Moray Firth. Return to your overnight accommodation in Inverness.
Day 3 – Pick up from overnight accommodation and travel to Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. This breath-taking location is an ideal place to maybe catch a glimpse of the famous “Nessie”. Travel west towards the stunning 13th Century Eilean Donan Castle, set in a world famous location. This is perhaps one of the most photographed Castles in Scotland, and you will see why. Continue our tour with a stop for lunch, thereafter continuing on to the Isle-of-Skye where we travel North to the famous Old Man of Stoor, this stunning location is best viewed after a short steep walk, but definitely worth it. Thereafter arrive at your chosen overnight accommodation on Isle of Skye.
Day 4 – Pick up from accommodation and travel to the glorious Fairy Pools where you will experience natures most stunning waterfall phenomenon. Travel to Armadale Ferry Terminal where we take a short ferry trip to Mallaig and thereafter travel through some stunning countryside towards the famous Harry Potter bridge Glenfinnan Viaduct, where at designated times you can view the Jacobite Steam Train crossing the bridge. View the nearby Glenfinnan Monument, that depicts the scene of the gathering of men in 1745 to pledge their allegiance to Bonnie Prince Charlie, eight months prior to the Battle of Culloden. Thereafter arrive at your chosen overnight accommodation in Fort-William.
Day 5 – Pick up from accommodation and visit the nearby Ben-Nevis visitor centre and indulge in a short walk of the mountain tracks and experience stunning scenery. Thereafter travel south towards Glencoe Visitor Centre, and learn about the tragic massacre of 1692 and visit the reconstructed Turf and Creel House. Travel further south through magnificent Glencoe scenery, stopping off at the 3 Sisters. Make our way through Loch Lomond, stopping along the way for lunch. Visit historic Stirling Castle that dates back to the 1500 s. Thereafter arrive at your accommodation in Edinburgh.
