Deposits

We will require a 20% deposit at the time of booking, unless it is within 28 days of the tour in which case the full amount will be payable. Payment can be taken by credit/debit card, this will then confirm your booking.

Balances

The full balance will be due 28 days before the date of the requested tour and this will be requested by email via an invoice facilitator.

Short notice bookings

If the booking is made at very short notice the driver will be able to collect the fee either in cash or bank transfer at the time of collection.

Cancellation more than 28 days notice

Cancellations made within 28 days, will receive a 50% refund minus a £75 admin fee. Cancellations made with over 28 days notice will receive a full refund minus a £75 admin fee.
 
Cancellation less than 28 days notice

Cancellations made less than 28 days of the proposed tour will not be refunded.

3rd Party tickets and Cancellation

Regarding any cancelled tours and where tickets for attractions have been purchased in advance on your behalf, then whilst every effort will be made to get those refunded from the supplier, it may be that those tickets will not be refundable.

Cruise Ships

Cruise ship tourists will be fully refunded if their ship has been unable to dock at the arranged Port of collection due to the Port being closed by the Port Authorities due to adverse weather conditions or any other reason. It is the responsibility of the customer to contact Glentarra Scottish Tours as soon as it is known the ship will not berth as considerable travel may be incurred in attending at the Port in question.

Failure to appear at arranged meeting point

Potential tourists having failed to notify cancellation or otherwise fail to turn up for any arranged tour, will not be refunded.

Cancellation general

A sympathetic approach will be taken as a general rule and in some cases at the discretion of the owner refunds may be made outwith the circumstances detailed above. If a confirmed re-booking for another suitable date is made at the time of cancellation then in these circumstances a full refund will be given.

Passenger behaviour

Tourists who are intoxicated through Alcohol or any other substance or in any way disorderly, or aggressive will not be allowed to travel on the tour and no refund will be given. Tourists must comply with all local laws, including wearing of seat-belts. Failure to meet the Law may result in being reported to the Police. Any deliberate breaking of the law or drunken, disorderly or aggressive behaviour during your journey will result in the tour being terminated immediately, and no refund given. Without exception, any person being verbally abusive or violent towards the driver will be immediately reported to the Police.

Our Responsibilities

We will not be responsible or pay you any compensation for any injury, illness, death loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description if it results from:

The acts and/or omissions of the person affected; or the acts and/or omissions of a third party unconnected with the provision of the services contracted for and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond ours (or our suppliers’) control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which either ourselves or suppliers could not, even with all due care, have foreseen or forestalled. We cannot be held liable for any personal loss or damage to clothing or personal effects.
